Vastu Calls · Call recording setup
Is your phone compatible with call recording?
Vastu Calls syncs call recordings to the lead timeline automatically. This guide helps you check whether your phone supports it, and how to fix it if it does not.
Quick compatibility reference
Find your phone brand to see whether recordings sync on their own, depend on the model, or have to be attached manually.
| PHONE BRAND | DIALER REQUIRED FOR AUTO SYNC | SYNC STATUS |
|---|---|---|
| Samsung | Samsung Phone (native), India firmware | Auto sync |
| Xiaomi / Redmi / POCO | MIUI Phone (older models) · HyperOS Dialer (select 2024+ models) | Varies by model |
| OnePlus | OxygenOS Phone (native) | Auto sync |
| Realme / Oppo | ODialer (select models) or native system dialer | Varies by model |
| Vivo / iQOO | FuntouchOS Phone (native) | Varies by model |
| Google Pixel | No compatible dialer available | Manual attach only |
| Nokia / Motorola / Nothing | No compatible dialer available | Manual attach only |
Step 1 — Check which Phone app you are using
The most common reason recording fails is that Google’s Phone app is set as default instead of your phone brand’s native dialer. Here is how to check.
- 1Open Settings on your phone
- 2Go to Apps → Default apps → Phone app
- 3Check which app is selected. If it says Phone by Google, or shows a blue handset icon on white, call recording will not work.
- 4To confirm, tap the Phone app → App details → check the version number. A version like
234.0.xxxxmeans it is Google’s dialer.
13.x or 2.x, not a three-digit number like 234.x.Step 2 — Enable recording for your phone
Find your brand below and follow the steps for it.
Samsung
Auto syncWorks on India-bought phones. Open the Phone app → ⋮ → Settings → Record calls → Auto record calls.
If the option is missing, the phone has international firmware. Contact support.
Xiaomi / Redmi / POCO
Varies by modelMIUI (older phones): open the Phone app → ⋮ → Settings → Call recording → Record automatically.
HyperOS (2024+ phones): go to Settings → Apps → ⋮ → Show system apps and look for a native Xiaomi Dialer. If you find it, set it as default and enable recording. If not, auto sync is not available, so attach recordings to leads manually.
Check your OS under Settings → About phone. MIUI is older, HyperOS is newer.
OnePlus
Auto syncOpen the Phone app → ⋮ → Settings → Call recording → Automatic call recording, and turn it on.
Realme / Oppo
Varies by modelStep 1: go to Settings → Apps → ⋮ → Show system apps and look for a native Dialer, not Google Phone. If you find it, set it as default and enable call recording.
Step 2, if there is none: set Region to India in Settings, then search for ODialer on the Play Store. Install it, set it as default and enable recording.
If neither works, many newer Realme and Oppo models do not support any recording dialer. Attach recordings to leads manually in Vastu Calls.
Vivo / iQOO
Varies by modelOpen the Phone app and dial *#*#556688#*#* to reset dialer defaults.
Then go to Phone app → Settings → Call recording and enable it.
Nokia / Motorola / Nothing / Google Pixel
Manual attach onlyThese phones only support Google Dialer, so auto sync is not possible.
After each call, attach the recording to the lead manually in Vastu Calls.
